Camp Walace ky
Dear Father and
Mother I now take my Pen
in hand to write a few lines
to you to let you know that
I am well at present
We have now got our tents
we have Slept in the open
air long enugh A there
is some few sick but not
as many as I exspected
we had a hevy March
we march a bout 40 miles
there and back we went
to guard some purvision
wagons threw for the
Ohio troops they where
going to Liewisvill they
exspect a fight there
we are fortified redy
for a fight we are fortified
here to keep the Rebels
back from Covington and
Cincinnati Dear Father I
have not much to say
but when you take
this Letter in hand hope it
will find you all well
I have writen two letters
to you and have not got
any answer yet. I want
you to write me whether
you have got my money
I have sent home ten
Dollars by William Jones
from Tearehaute I have
sent my Sachel you
will find it at Clinton
I want to know something
a bout my wheat where
you have sold it and if
you get the money put it
out on interist if you
think best. I herd that
Gefdavis offer Compremise
he is going to send three men
to Compremise with but I
think it is falts
We was drawn in to line
of Battle three oClock this
morning the Rebls are geting
Closeer our Cavelry went to meet
them well I must bring
my Letter to a Close you must
excuse my bad writeing
and Spelling
