85 Reg Ind Vol.
Dear brother I received
your Letter last evening
with the greatest of
pleasure I was glad to
here from you that
you was well I am well
at present there is several
of the boys sick with
the measels James Andrews
and Lewis Wellmein and
several others John P Anderson
is dead he dident live
more than 24 hours he
eat verry harty dinner
before night he was
pechless he died with
the conjestion of the bowls
and Brain he was a fine
young man he was
like by evry body
he was kind to his fellow
men Lieutenant Bales is
verry bad sick we are
Camp half a mile South
of Danville we exspect
a fight here every sense
this day week I have not
received are Letter from
home for a bout a month
John we have herd some
bad news on the Potomec
General Burnsides has lost
12000 men this dont
look much lik that
this horrible war evry
will Close soon florance White
is here he has been here
over a week he is going
to start back next
Monday there has been
Several of the boys home
on a fence furlow but
it is played out there has
been a Courtmarcel on some
of them in the 33 Reg
well John I will have to
bring my Letter to a Close
for I have nothing more
verry importance to write
it is geting late. but
I hope when this Letter
Comes to hand it will
