Dear Father
I have Seat my
Self down this morning
to drop you a few lines
I have not herd from you
for a long while whether you
have forgotten me or not
I am Still on the Land
of the living yet and
enjoying the A Soldiers
life we have verry good time
to what Some have well father
I have nothing verry impor
tance to write only we have
received heavy reinforcements
for two weeks there has
been Seven or eight trains
running troops to Chatanuga
day and night for two weeks
Generl Grant has taken
Command of this westren
department well father
I have express $40.00 Dollars
22th last month to Tarre haute
Haute in your care also have
writeten you a Letter the Same
time Stateing whare the money
was for feare you dident get
the letter I will write
to you a gain you will find
forty Dollars at the express
office Tarre Haute in your name
and I wrote to you to Send
me a pare Boots and
two Check Shirts but
I dont know whether you
can Send them now they
have got Sending troops and
purvisions threw to this
place so plenty that they
keep the train bussy
Well I guess I have written
all the perticulers I will
close my Letter hoping to hear
from you Soon for its a greate
pleasure to me to read a Letter
from home or any of my
friends well I must close for
the presant this Letter leaves
