Dear Father I set my
self down to write to you
a few lines to inform you
that I am well at presant
and hopeing you are enjoying
the Same blessing I have
not news to tell you
only it is reported that
we have Vicksburge well
father we have drawed our
Pay to day we have got
26 dollars and I am going
to Send 25 Dollars home
by Capt. Reader he is
a going home to day
I have had verry bad luck
I had 60 Dollars Stole from
me I was going to Send it
home but I was to late
well father it is a bout
train time I have to Close
Captain Reader is bout to
Start out on the train
father you must write
as soon as you get this
Letter and how much
money you received in
this Letter I will Send
this by Capt Reader
