Dear brother I have taken the opportunity of
writing you a few lines to let you know that
we are all well at present. and hope when
these few lines reaches you will find you enjoying
the blessing. I wrote you a letter Some time a
go which I have not got any answer from
but I guess it wasent worth answering. well
I don't know as I have any thing very important
to write. there has been a greate deal of Sickness
here this winter the Scarlet fever has rgging
pretty bad and there has been a great many
deaths and there has been a great many deaths
in the army John Adams and Edmond
Hiddle are both dead John Adams died with
the measles in the hospital in Tennessee
Edmond Hiddle died with a pain in his
leg George Hiddle was wounded in back in
the fight at Murfressboro they don't know
whether he is dead or not there has been
Some died out of the 85 reg Edmond Luek
and Louis Wellman Eliga Louis he was brought [probably Elijah]
home the 29 Illinois reg has been taken
prisoners and they are all at home I guess.
we have Sent your boots and a pair of mittens
we Sent them last Saturday from Terehaute
they have been done Some time we have been
wating for Joseph Honeannon to go back So
we Could Send them by him. I guess he
haint got money enough to go back. well
I don't know as I have any thing much to
write only it has been very mudy this winter
but it is putting the Snow down now a
bout right. well I guess I might as well
quit for I don't know as I have anything
more to write I want you to write as soon
